Handcuffed to a Sinking Ship
Lana Del Rey has consistently been a top artist on my spotify wrapped for a few years now. I enjoy her slightly unhinged and obsessive lyrics, and decided to make a concept album. I chose "Handcuffed to a Sinking Ship" as a title, and took inspiration from her psychedelic aesthetic and made the type dramatic. I staged a photoshoot in a parking lot, scattering dying roses and my 4 inch heels haphazardly, almost as if they had fallen out of the car while it was driven recklessly. This process was fun to an unfair degree, even the kiss marks were created physically first, then scanned in. I especially enjoyed making two editions of the album, which was justified by the convention in recent years of "special editions."
