Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen
The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen is a project that is near and dear to my heart. I have been a massive fan of Jon and his band since I was 17, and greatly admire his philanthropic endeavors as well. These community restaurants offer a meal to everyone who walks through their doors, allowing people to pay if they can, and if they can't, letting them volunteer to work in the gardens, kitchen, or as a server. It gives people a change to get back on their feet in a tangibly helpful and respectful way, All too few people are aware of these establishments, so I chose to do an awareness campaign/marketing project to make their mission and methods clear. I used warm and inviting colors to draw the viewer in, and I sketched some food items to reinforce the goal and add a playful touch. I came up with effective slogans to draw the audience in, and the hand-drawn type style combined with the illustrations make the campaign very approachable. Overall, I adored this project and intent to pitch it to the organization.
